CAESAR II has been "quickly" tested on Windows7 64-bit. The software was installed and a sample job was run through both the Static and Dynamic analysis paths. Issues and comments are noted below.

Installation: All went well using the 090904 DVD, except that the "Version 5.70 HASP Driver" wouldn't install. The message stated "unsupported operating system". After the installation completed, the "Version 5.75 HASP Driver" was copied to the machine and successfully installed.

The driver will be replaced on all future CDs/DVDs, but we can't change what is currently in the field. Users can download the 5.75 driver installer from either the COADE website or Aladdin's website.

Piping Input: Data entry, graphics operations, "Help", and "Error Checking" were tested. Everything here worked as anticipated. Following "Error Checking", the "Load Case Editor" was invoked. Attempting to analyze from here closed all the files, but crashed the Input. For the time being, don't try to run from here.

Static Load Case Editor: As long as this module is invoked directrly from the Main Menu everything works well.

Static Output: Reports and graphics worked as anticipated.

Dynamic Input: Performed as anticipated.

Dynamic Output: Performed as anticipated.

Obviously there needs to be more testing ...

The latest update (3-14-2010) includes several updates for 64-bit Windows 7 including a spec editing fix for CADWorx Plant, and a fix to an error produced when creating new intelligent projects in P&ID.
