(excuse my english as i'm not a native speaker...)
We're having a practical problem with the calculation of an external nozzle load on a pressure vessel. The problem is that this nozzle has a high internal pressure (coil) compared to the vessel.
The coil has been calculated separately in acc. with ASME B31.3 and
requires almost all of its thickness for internal pressure. The coil is welded into the vessel. The internal pressure in the vessel is checked without reinforcement of the nozzle. We trick pv-elite by applying a very short nozzle length (0.1mm).
But how can we check the external nozzle load on the vessel? WRC 107 calculates stress in the vessel wall and in the nozzle! But there is no nozzle available.
Please advise how this could be solved using pv-elite.
