Is there a limit for displacement in expansion case?
For Sustained case we limit displacement to 5 mm in unit, for Occasional case the deformation of piping is limited to 20 mm in horizontal and vertical direction including piping weight effect.

In general company practice for expansion case
1) lateral movement allowable 25 mm ( otherwise may hit nearby pipe)
2) longitudinal movement 100 to 150 mm
3) Try to avoid any lift up support or may require a spring support.

Case by case basis more longitudinal & lateral movement may be permitted provided it is assured that expansion of pipe do not clash with other pipe & extended shoe length may be required to avoid pipe shoe fall down from support structure.

Thanks Habib For your explanation.In my Company doument basis only mentioned about Occasional case (deflection limit to 20 mm vertical & horizontal) adn for sustained case limit to 5 mm.
Now i know that for expansion case for lateral, limit the deflection about 25 mm or try to avoid clash with other piping and for longitudinal limit to 100 mm.
