In ASME section VIII Div. 1, UHX part for tubesheet design (UHX 12.6) is given for designing tubesheet considering it as simply supported. What does it mean ?
Also for designing tubesheets, the calculation procedure in div. 1 and div. 2 are same. Are both these procedure really same or there exist any difference ?
While comparing the two divisions with respect to tubesheet design, I found that for getting the effective modulus of elasticity and poisson's ratio, the table are given in division 1 for the range 0.1

We have added the extended data for Div. 2 for E*/E and Nu* in the program. Div. 1 data is valid in the range 0.1 < mu* < 0.6, for larger values of mu*, i.e. > 0.6 and < 1.0. The Div. 2 data is used. We also added a note for the user indicating so.

This will be in the 2010 version and a next build of 2009. If any body needs that sooner, send an email and put it my attention.

The Simply supported tubesheet design means, that you are designing the tubesheet to cylinder junction as simply supported, in other words tubesheet does not get any support from the welded cylinder. This option can be useful some time, when you have thin cylinder (shell or channel) welded to the tubesheet.

I have not done a detailed comparison, but tubesheet design is probably same between the 2 divisions.
