I did CII analysis on a 5 km pipeline.I input 3-D model from CADWORX to CII and added over 400 piping supports and generated piping stress analysis report. I admit it is a tedious job.
But my client wanted to extend the current pipeline to 7 km. Frankly I don't want to input the new 3-D model into CII again and take much longer time on the spreadsheets. Is it possible for me to generate a model for 2 km new pipeline and connected it with the existing 5 km pipeline model in CII?
Thanks for all of your help!

Are you implying something simple here? If so you can create the 2km line as a new file and use the piping input utility to insert it.

Remember that you cannot have the same node numbers in each model other than the one connecting node - gets rather messy otherwise. Renumbering nodes may be necessary but this is simple with the list - block command.

Hope this answers your query.

thanks for your prompt reply.
Where is the command of piping input utility in CAESAR II? I didn't find it in CII menu?

No worries,

Once you have built the new model, enter the 'master' piping input document that you want to contain both docs.
Under 'Environment' you should find 'Include Piping Input Files'.

The help files should be good enough to get you on the way with this, however you may want to test it with some simple models just so that you have familiarity with it. Otherwise, there are plenty of posts on said subject.

Cheers

Thank you very much, Perseus!
I admit I am lazy this time on this issue.
