Dear Sir,

For the seismic calculation report per IS-1893,
I want to know how "DampVal" is calculated and I can change it.
I tried to change "DampVal", but the value of "DampVal" is always 1.4.

Related factors are as follows,
Importance Factor as Entered by User I = 1
Zone Number = 4
Soil Type = Soft Soil
Force Factor R = 2.0000
Period of Vibration ( program or user ) = 0.2083 Secs.
Value of Sa/g from user Spectrum Data = 4.5328
Damping Factor = 2.0000

Regards,

Dear jgshim,

Damping value (DampVal)is depend on the percent of damping. for 2% damping this value is 1.4. If u change it to 5% damping, then DampVal becomes 1.0.

Hope this is to be clear.
