I don't think you should have any problem in modelling the roller support now.

Anindya, if you're going to get technical
(grin) about it, wouldn't the roller supports
provide translational restraint in one direction,
frictional restraint in another and none
in the third? Or is that just getting way to
picky?

these things roll once off the back of the truck into the dirt.... IMHO I would rather use slide bearings instead..... As for lateral restraint yes and no I have seen them jump off the rolls but who knows how much force that takes...

flaky devices that are hard to quantify are not my favorite sort of pipe hardware

For low-friction supports, we have used ball bearing based supports protected in such a manner that dirt can't easily enter in between. Teflon or graphite SS slides may be good as frictionless surfaces, if temperature of operation or cleanliness of the environment permit.

If the roller supports are being used for reducing friction forces probably on some nozzle or on the anchor point then it can be modelled in similar way as we model the sliding plate using friction coefficient value as 0.1 or 0.08. For roller supports where proper care is being taken that no dirt enters the bearing area the modeling support with firction coefficient very close to 0 can work.

I've only ever seen a roller support in a Catalog. Not much call for them here on the Houston Ship Chanel. I've been told since I started in this business not to use them.
