I would like to ask about using WRC 297 for nozzle evaluation. When using the WRC 297 analysis module form the main menu, the results are stress calculations for the nozzle and the vessel. However, the results do not show any evaluation or indicate having a failure as the case in the WRC 107.
How are these results used and how the nozzle could be evaluated using the WRC 297? Kindly advise.

If the loads that you entering are sustained (pressure and weight) then compare the stress intensities to 1.5*S.

If the loads are thermal or a combination of sustained and thermal then use approx 2S.

Also run WRC-107 and perform nozzle reinforcement calcs

At this time we do not ask the user about what kinds of loads are entered so we can not perform the comparison to the allowables. It is on the development list.

You can get the stress intensity allowables from ASME VIII div 2 for example.
