"Lugs for riser clamps shall be designed based on an assumption that 50% will be engaged during operating/design condition.."What does this mean.....Thanks in advance......

It appears that the Riser Clamp ,Vertical pipe attachments (Lugs) need to be designed for at least 2 times the vertical load calculated .

Is this query related to Spring cans attached to Riser Clamps?
