Hi all,
Suppose an Underground piping system is running from an existing plant to a new plant.

Soil of the existing plant is already settled and the soil of the new plant is going to settle in future. So piping system will be subjected to differential settlement.

Now my question is how i can model settlement of soil?

can i put the displacement(Settlement Value) to the soil supports(which are modelled by Caesar)through connecting Node?

Thanks in Advance

The settlement is normally associated with the large dia storage tanks where large qty of liquids are stored. Because of this weight the land very near to the tank is expected to settle. This may not be associated with the entire length of pipeline connecting these tanks. Pipe lines near the tanks connecting the nozzles are above ground.

You have to add the displacements to the supports that CAESAR II adds to the buried pipe, but it can be very tedious as everytime you make a change to the pipe you have to run it through the buried pipe modeller and then add the displacements again.....
