1st question
When analyzing a flange with a thin gasket, with De-Di<38.1 mm , the output file reports the following:
Quote:
Note: Recommended Min. Width for Sheet and Composite Gaskets per table 2-4 :
= 38.100 mm.[Note: Exceeds actual gasket width, 5.000 ]

What does this requirement refer to? Tema? ASME? What else? I just need a reference to the correct document.

2nd question
I think that
Quote:
Estimated Finished Weight of Flange 336.4 Kgf
Estimated Unfinished Weight of Forging 336.4 Kgf

should differ one from eachother. It would be great to know both the unmachined and machined weight of the flange, to understand the possible cost of manufacturing.
Thank you.

Fedeghi,
1.) see appendix 2 in ASME Sect VIII Div 1 for table 2-4. Its not a mandatory requirement.

2.) what type of flange you are refer to for your case? SORF, WNRF?

kk, thank you. I found table 2-4 on the 2008 edition: I was looking for it on the 2004 edition, but it must have been added in the meanwhile.

I am referring to a loose ring flange, starting from a 516 gr 60 plate to be drilled and machined.
