Boys(girls?),

If anybody can answer this question for me the world would go open for me in pvelite:P

Wenn i insert a standard Blind flange (20") and then i put an 8" nozzle on the blind flange. Will PVElite calculate the blindflange thickness in conserding that there is a hole in the flange? Or will he recommend that there must be reinforcement put at the nozzle?

I would consider it as a loose ring flange instead of a blindflange.

PVElite does it right IMHO, that's to say i.a.w. UG-39. No need to consider it as corne says, as 8" is within code geometric limits.

I'll say you should work out the flange calculation as per App 2. Said standard blind flange no longer able be treated as standard flange where you can read the flange capability according to pressure-temperature rating table due to an opening you cut on it.
