Hi to all!
Im a new member to this forum and hoping i can gather information to solve my problem regarding isogen in caesar ver.5.0
Actually we already made isogen in our owned model and the result is ok.
But there are models from japan which told us to extract iso the result is no drawing appear.
I can't understand because the style i used is same i used also in our model. Aside from that when i use default in creating drawing there is output.
is there lacking in my set-up that only our models can generate and others cannot?
Please advice me...

Thank's in advance
Nald

Hi Nald,

There are some limitations in isometric generation, such as size, geometry, etc. It is very possible that you can run analysis for one CAESAR model, but can not create isometric drawings. Personal Isogen Dlls have another error checking subroutines. It can only be reviewed based on each induvidual piping model.

Nald,

E-mail your CAESAR II model to Shawn and he'll take a look at it.

Interested to know the solution for this isometric problem. My self is using rel 5.1 currently. Earlier i could generate isometrics (Probably in Rel-5. Not sure).Status message is:

Error in processing pcf file.

When viewed the message file the following message is seen:

Message enteries for D:\STRESS ISOMETRICS TRIALS\SKID PIPE TRIAL3.pcf file.
Personal ISOGEN : VERSION 5.6.9 (Full)

Myself tried to run the file from Caesar2 directory also. Comment like "isometric path not found" appeared.

Hi Shiny,

For the first problem, you need to install the visual fortran runtime library. Please send me an E-mail so I can reply it with "VFRUN66AI.exe" file. For the second problem, move the files to another folder (not under the CAESAR II installation directory) and try it again.

Shawn,

Thank you a lot this resolved my problem in generating the iso’s using Isogen for our models. The question here is why this runtime library is not shipped with the software CD? Second question is why the X-Y-Z compass not shown in the generated ISO? I was not able to make it appear there.

Thanks,

"Isogen is a product from Alias, it is not a COADE product. We followed the suggested installation procedure as documentated by Alias. This procedure did not indictate that an older Fortran environment was needed. This problem was unexpected, since we do install the latest Fortran environment for CAESAR II." Hopefully the next package from Alias will not have this problem.

We'll have to add a control to include the XYZ compass on the drawing. This is not part of the model, hence it isn't in the PCF file, so Isogen couldn't put it on the drawing.

You can always manually edit the pcf file, there is "Edit PCF" button on isometric generation screen. But there is no pcf statements or commands to show X-Y-Z compass on isometric drawings, you can try to set your own backing sheet with X-Y-Z compass previously drawn by AutoCAD.
