Dear All

I am doing stress analysis for flow lines from x mas tree system. My question is whether flange leakage analysis through to be done for hub flange? I am not able to find such a type in caesar. This is high pressure system. The Hub flange is kept before choke valve.

I thought that since hub connector(clamp connector) is put over the hub flange through bolts/nut, not needed to the checking?

My perception is correct or not?

Please clarify

regards

sha..

Clamp connectors, often called 'graylocs' are designed in accordance with ASME VIII div 1 App. 24. Usually the manufacturer will tell you the maximum allowable external loads. Otherwise 'Pipemill' software includes the calculation method (www.pipemill.com).

Thank you Moverz. Actually the forces/moments are within that vendor given value(graylocs vendor).I was thinking that that may not be sufficient.
