Hi,ALL
please to this elbow(to see the Picture in the appendix),because this elbow don't include in the Closely spaced mitered bend and the widely spaced mitered bend ,so i don't know How to simulate the elbow?Could every experts please to tell me how to simulate this elbow?thanks lot

Hi zzw
I think model it as intersection. I mean do not consider any flexibility factor for this configuration. Regarding Sif you have to go for a finite element analysis , otherwise consider a very conservative value for that.

Same procedure just do not click elbow.
Say 20 is elbow mid point.
1) 10 to 20 click Sif --- at node 20 ( input sifi & sifo )
2) 20 to 30 click Sif --- again at node 20 ( input sifi & sifo )

Thanks shr
except the SIF question,i want to ask another question ,i offer two methods that how to input the elbow,do you think which is best ways, please to see picture in the attachmens ,thanks lot!

Hi zzw
It depends how much accuracy in modelling you want & whether that detail modelling is really affecting your Caesar output result, by which percentage?

I mean you can go with option 1 itself.
I do not say option 2 is not correct or you should not go for option 2.

Check your output result & you can judge by yourself.
If piping routing is quite small you find slight difference in output result. But if that elbow is a small part of big piping system you will find hardly any difference in result.

Habib

Hi SHR:
but i think two options may be the same for the affection for the caesar output result, because of Force=Dis*Stiffness ,the displacements and stiffness is the same for the two options, what do you think?

Regards
zzw

Piping stiffness depends on piping configuration.
in your case ignore it.

Piping stiffness depends on pipe thickness and diameter ect,i mean if every local parts(just as this elbow) is the same in the displacement and stiffness,so the caesar output result is the same, what do you think?

Are your two sketch same in terms of piping configuration ?
Although I agree no much difference, but still different.

i think it is the same, although the outline is different, but two options expansion displacement are the same, for the calculation result the dispalcement is the main factor!what do you think about it?

according to your discussion, there are another reasion,i think CASE-2 is the fact length from 20 Node to 30 Node, but Case-1 is the projected length in the X OR Y OR Z direction, for the caesar program, it is the same except the pipe total weight,i thlnk it
