Hi,

We are currently analysing SS Sch. 10S buried piping for closed drains. The pipes are buried under sand with sand cover approx. 600-700 mm and the acheieved dry density of sand after compaction is 90% i.e. roughly 19 KN/CuM.
The piping network is very complex encompassing numerous branches from various equipment joining the main drain header. The buried piping analysis shows stress failure at many branch points when the default value of overburden compaction multiplier = 8 is used.In the help menu it is noted that actual Proctor Number from the soil text books can be used to bring this multiplier down. I have searched through net for this value but to no avail.
Anyone having references to get this value for sand or with some readily available data is most welcome. In addition, would like to know if someone has already experienced this situation and how this was overcome?

Best regards,
