Dear Sirs,
Regarding the module for Flange Leakage calculation in Caesar I learn that the external axial load can only be a positive value in the program. I believe Caesar is calculating these external loads in accordance to our friend Kellogg using the formula for equivalent pressure. In the past I have seen the axial forces been positive (+) for tensile and negative (-) for compression on flanges, but Kellogg doesn’t say much about it; neither does Caesar.

I feel it is a bit conservative to ignore the compression load. In my case it is a significant load and would be fatal for the results. Any comments on this matter?

You're right, CAESAR II uses the equation from the "Kellogg book". We use the absolute value of the force and moment you enter, so that Peq is always larger than P. Doing anything else would be non-conservative.

(If you don't want to use the Force or Moment, don't input these values.)

I know in the module of Flange Leakage calculation,M=(MX^2+MY^2+MZ^2)^1/2.But
I don't know where are"MX,MY&MZ" come from.
I guess they come from "MOMENTS" of "GLOBAL ELEMENT FORCES".who can help me.

Yes, you would obtain the bending moments from the CAESAR II output (force/moment) report.

In CAESARII output report,there are three load cases including (force/moment),OPE,SUS,EXP.I want
to know which one can i obtain the bending moments.

For flange evaulation, you would normally use the operating (OPE) load case.
