Hi!,

For hillside nozzles the below area calculation is copied from PVElite:

Area Available in Pad [A5]:
= (min(Dp,DL) -(Nozzle OD))*(min(Tp,Tlwp,Te))*fr4
= ( 1248.1960 - 722.7960 ) * 45.0000 * 1.00
= 236.430 cm²

My doubt is regarding the red coloured text. As per the input
Dp is 1135 mm and from calculation DL is 1313.093 mm. Hence the value selected for min(Dp,DL) should be 1135 mm. But why does the value of Dp is taken as 1248.1960.
Please help me out with this issue.

Thanks.

Raghav,

For a hilside nozzle the re-pad is an elliptical shape, with major and minor diameters. But, when you enter that in PVElite, you have to specify the minor diameter.

PVElite also assumes that pad width is same around the nozzle. So, once it knows the minor diameter, it can compute the major diameter. The major diameter of the re-pad is used to find the available area in the hillside direction. This is probably the value 1248.196 mm

I hope this clears it up. Let us know if you have further questions or any suggestions.
