Recently I've had the pleasure of importing PCF files from AutoPlant.

So far all of my PCF files are all very messy and it is time consuming to clean up the files. One would have to wonder if it is quicker to create the files from scratch in CaesarII. Typical problems are:

- flanges get lost through the process
- some pipes are converted into rigid elements (unnecessarily)
- artificial K-factors (either 0.00 or very large number)
- valves get lost
- pipes repeats itself in the opposite direction (110 to 120... then 120 to 110... etc etc)
- rigid element's weight is in kg instead of Newtons
- unnecessary 0.00s in DX, DY, DZ edit boxes

Any suggestions on how to improve the PCF import procedure? eek

Send us a couple of the problematic PCF files and we'll take a look.

In your e-mail, state what version and what build of CAESAR II you are using.
