Hello stress guys

I am a new one in stress field, and got a question about the difference beetween Fixed trunnion and adjustable one.
This may sound a little unimportant but I need to clarify it, since I was told with to two different point of view from three person.

Adjustable trunnion is primarily used for lines connected to rotating equipments (pumps, compressors) for alignment of nozzle (to protect the equipment from shaft rotation during operation)... If fixed trunnion is used, then equipments shall be aligned using shims...
