Hi, This msg is for administrator of this forum. I am working on a slurry piping connected between tank and pumps. As per process requirement elbows in this system should be 5D. i.e for 8"NB pipe bend radius is 1016mm. However when I tried to input the radius and take the check run, following error is displayed. " Node 530 already exists at the BEND NEAR point on element 530 to 540. Do not try to respecify". I tried to redefine the elbow however no change in error msg. This warning is shown for every 5D bend. If I make these all 5D bends to normal 1.5D bends, it works fine. Please help me to fix this. I have attached the .CAESAR II file. I was not able to attach .cfg and .fil file. Regards,

This is most probably due to the length of the 2 elements you used to form the bend.
You should say that with a radius of 1016mm the elements should be 1016mm long or longer. Sometimes an element being just as long as the radius gives the warning you mention. Making the two elements 10mm longer helps.

When you model the bend as a stand-alone element, the "FROM" node is at the "zero point", hence you don't need the additional node at the "zero degree" angle. What the error message is trying to tell you is that you have two nodes on top of one another.

CAESAR II can't pickup on this automatically because the nodes are defined before you changed the radius.

To fix this, delete the node number and the angle value for the node placed at zero degrees in the "bend auxiliary" dialog.
