Hello Everybody,

I need help.
I am preparing a new server as Application Citrix server. i want to integrate various programs that users will have to logon to access on it.

In this case, i have to mount two version of CAESAR, the CAESAR 5.00 and CAESAR 5.10.

With The version 5.00, no problem, all perfect. it work fine.

With the version 5.10 i am not as lucky as for the 5.00... i have some trouble during start of the application on user session. When i start the program, after few seconds, appear a message that the path is not correct and cannot continue.

Does anyone know if i have to complete the configuration with something? modify something?

I really hope that someone will be able to help me.

Regards,

Jean

What "path" is it complaining about?

Hi Richard,

some news about my problem.

When i have this path error, it do not give me any more information, only thing that it does not start the application.

I uninstall all the application, and reinstall it. ow when i am trying to start it again by a client citrix access, it do not give me any error, but do not start the program. very strange....at least that could give me an error that we could know something more...but nothing...

It's very strange, it looks like that it do not detect the CAESAR II.EXE file as an exe file.

Like i told before, with the version 5.00 (5.00.7, (Build 070122), i do not have any problem to execute the program.

But With the version 5.10, i tried the basic version and upgrade it to the last version 5.10.02 (Build 080512) and following without working.

This sounds like a DLL is missing (or can't be found) for the 5.10 installation. Try this:

- open up a "DOS box" (command prompt window).
- navigate to your CAESAR II installation directory.
- issue the command "CAESAR II [Enter]".

Are there any messages?

I did what you said, as in a MS-DOS box:

c:\Program Files\COADE\CAESAR II 5.10>CAESAR II

and it says that it is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

In the folder i don't have any file or folder with this name.

I forgot to tell you this information:
When i start directly the program in ther server, as administrator, i do not have any problem, it's start correctly, but when i do it by an Citrix access i have the failed, with any account, with an admin account too.

Regards,

I've just read back my old messages and when i was talking about CAESAR II.EXE, i would like to say CAESAR II.EXE (The exec for the main program).

So i did what you told me before, and it start the program without any message, directly on the server.

Well this narrows things down to a "permission problem". You need to determine what you did to permit 5.00 to run, and do the same for Version 5.10.

Make sure you have given "All Users" complete (read, write, delete, modify) rights to "\caesar ii 5.10\system".

i did exactly the same on the both instalation.
To confirm that it was not a problem with the server, i reinstall it on the same server of the 5.00, and same issue.
All users have full control for folders on Program Files.

Is there a "nethasp.ini" file in the \5.00 directory? If so, copy it into your \5.10 directory.

You said that 5.10 works if you're logged in as Administrator, but not a user. Therefore the problem has to be "permission / rights" related. Something was done with 5.00 that was not done with 5.10. (Could the problem be with the Workstations, allowing access to the \5.00 directory by not the 5.10 directory?

Not exactly,

it work only if you start it on the main server, enter as an "normal account", in my case it was administrator, but the problem is coming when you try to start the program with the Web access of Citrix server.

For exemple, if it work with the admin account in the server, why it do not work when i start with the admin user but by the Web interface of Citrix? there is the way of my question and where is my problem.

If i create a basic user on the server and enter in the normal mode, directly to the server, it's work, but if i use the same basic user by the Web access of Citrix, that's not working.

so with an admin account and a basic user account that's not work.

The v5.00 is the only version that is work. i gave the same parameters on both, grant full access to folders in case of but its always failing, it do not start the v5.10, any warning or error message.

Well I'm stumped, maybe someone else using Citrix can tell you how to set it up. We don't have a Citrix setup here, and I've never installed or used our software on such a setup.

I can tell you this though, we did not add anything in Version 5.10 that goes out and looks for Citrix and then shuts things down. As long as you're accessing a "red network" ESL, the software should simply work.
