Hello guys

I started to get involved with stress analysis some months ago and have some doubts.

How can I represent steam trace condition in Caesar II?, i.e. I was told a problem with a "steam traced with 150# steam" 12inch line.

I also get a warning like this:
" User entered value: on element 10 to 20
The computed minimum pipe thickness is greater than the user specified
wall thickness "

I indicated a 12inch-STD with corrosion allowance 0.125".
What is about that warning?
Could anybody help me please?

Gsor,

1. To consider your steam trace weight, ask the vendor what is the total insulation thickness and the total density including the steam tube trace, then input the values in the spreadsheet

2. If you are using a standard NPS 12 pipe, no need to modify the spreadsheet pipe OD and thickness/schedule, just input the CA value in the "corrosion".

Goodluck!

Apperently your pressure is too high for this pipe. Check your hoop-stresses or do a pipe hoop stress calculation by hand according to the code you're using for your network. You'll have to thicken the pipe or reduce the pressure.
