Dear all,

In support standards gaps are shown for guides, stops etc. I used to mention those gaps along with support type (Guide-2mm or stop-2mm) because that field tolerance is maintained. Some suggest me not to mention the 2mm r 3mm standard gap for guides r stops as it is a field tolerance which may or may not be maintained. But what I feel that sometimes that zero gap produce adverse results which may not be a good engineering. Please suggest me which one to follow as a correct approach for my future assignments.

Regards
vishwa

Hi Vishwa,.

Yes you dont have to call figures if your working along in you company standards. only it is necessary if you have a special type of gap.. say 5mm or above.. which in your calculation, you let your system slide before restricting it. Your doubt are correct but it is not our problem after declaration of the design.. grin

Regards!
