Hi all,

I am a new user of CAESAR (about 8 months) and I know multipurpose FE codes as ANSYS or MARC from my former work. They have the possibility to create personal result lists by macros (ANSYS) or F77-subroutines (MARC).

My question is: how is it possible to get the CAESAR results without interactive clicking in the post processor?
In my opinion should it much more easier to get the results (forces and displacements) directly via an external program because we make our own postprocessing in our company eg. rotating in the isometric coordinate system.

That's why my question: does anybody know the binary format of the CAESAR result files?

Thanks in advance

Michael

The binary format of the CAESAR II ._P file is proprietary. In addition, we usually end up making modifications to this file with almost every release. Attempting to interact with the results at this level is not recommended.

Probably the best way to accomplish what you want is to utilize the ODBC (MS Access) option, to send the output data to an external database. Then you can do whatever post processing you need.

Note, currently the ODBC option sends all of the output data to the database. Version 4.30 (currently in development) will include a new DataExport Wizard which will allow the selective generation of the database. This Wizard will permit you to only send restraint loads, or displacements (etc) to the database.
