I need help about the following question:

when I run a piping model and I want to check if there is not any overstressed points, I pick on the Overstressed points Icon and an advisory message appears: "no overstressed poins, or no allowables", but when I see the stress results for each load case, i can find many elements that are overstressed. Why when i pick on the overstressed points icon does not appear any warning message saying that really there are overstressed points in the model???

other question: why in the operation load case there is not code compliance checking?

Thanks.

Hi Jarg,

Please reffer your query in caesar forum.. and see sticky topic for allowables..

To guide you in advance... please read ASME B31.3 chapter 2 and you will have your answer. Sorry if I will not answer you directly but this is a "requirement" or "mandatory" to read the code before going to a software as stress analysis. also try to find books for the job, one basic book will be Pipe Stress analisys by Sam Kannappan..

Regards!

This sounds like you are running the original release of Version 5.10 ??

This release had a bug with the "Find" operations, which caused a number of problems, one of which was the inability to graphically display overstressed elements. You need to update your installation with the latest build from this website.

If you are not receiving e-mail notices about new builds then you haven't registered your software. I highly recommend that you register your copy of CAESAR II, since this is the only way we have of contacting the user base. You can find the link to register below "Help" on the Main Menu.
