Dear All,

I am facing a hanging problem in CAESAR II as when I select all load cases and try to view code compliance report my PC hangs for a long time. I changed my configure settings as Manx. Memory Allocated as "64MB" and Video Driver to "Windows Basic Video" but problem still continues.

Can anybody suggest any solution for this.

The "Windows Basic Video" setting is for "graphics issues" only. This will not affect report generation.

You said "all load cases" - how many is that? How big is the job, i.e. how many elements? Where are you trying to send the report to, the screen or MS Word?

Sir,

I am using 20 load cases in that. The job is of 480 elements (1.8MB). I am trying to send report to MS Word and then facing problem.

The information we've received from Microsoft is that "tables more than 6 pages are huge". Imaging that, 6 pages !!

Don't select all 20 load cases at once (you can't fight this). You're sending too much data to Word and Word is choking. Try 10 cases, then the next 10. If that doesn't work try 5, then 5 more, etc.

Actually we have Microsoft looking at this (for the 3rd time) trying to determine why/where the slow down occurs.

Dear SIr,

I have tried the solution suggested by you but it still take lot of time to generate report also it shows one message while sending report to MS Word as Follows :

Server Busy
This action can not be completed because the 'Document1 - Microsoft Word' program is not Responding. Choose "Switch To" and correct the problem.

Yes, that is exactly what happens. There is too much data for Word to process efficiently. You have to keep clicking that [Retry] button until the process finishes.

RAH,

If you are just trying to view results, why not use the statics output processor - Options - View Reports - On screen.

Before the MS-Word interface, this was the results viewer. The results can still be printed from the viewer. It's just not in Word format for nice headers, etc. It must use less memory and resources.

If you still need Word format reports, maybe output to text file, then do copy+paste to Word (If columns layout preserved, avoid table structure?).
