i am first to learn PV,now i dont know what is its function! is it like ANSYS to calcute the stress of vessel ?? can it show the stress picture like ANSys??
how can i kown it well??what kind of books should i read??

The basic function of PV Elite is to determine required wall thickness and MAWP for pressure vessels and heat exchangers under internal and external pressure using published Codes like PD 5500, ASME etc. At the moment, there are no colored stress contour plots available that many FEA programs produce.
