Vessels .... Codes asuch as ASME VIII do not provide limits in terms of allowable forces and moments on vessel nozzles. The Norwegian code Norsok R-001 does provide a good method in setion 5.1.5. If there are no values in the contract, in the specification or you cannot talk to the vessel designer and your project manager doesn't get the info from the customer then I would try to find "generally used" values from some company standard or similar source you consider reliable. Then I would include those limits/actual max values into the stress report and notify the customer officially what values are used.

There is a standard as per company practice otherwise make one.. for special equipment that dont fall in the category of our standard we ask the equipment personel for them to extract data/information, and it will be the last option to do it ourself, using code specify by the data sheet of the manufacturer.
