in my project i am going to use Tied Expansion Bellow? i do not know how can i select tied expansion bellow. and then Nozzle. after expansion bellow i want to introduce nozzle for pump connection. if i am going to select API 610, how can i give value. bec. i have only force and moment value.

But in API 610 so many columns r there. For a example tank outer diam.,tank thickness and fluid height.i am not using tanks. that nozzle is pump suction nozzle.

please give me a valuable information.

You need to study the Caesar II User Guide and Applications Guide to learn about modelling, there's not enough space here to explain. These are found in the Caesar directory called C2_docu.

Or ask your lead engineer.

Tank thickness ... fluid height .... that sounds like API 650 to me.

If you are not familiar with expansion bellows please read EJMA code. It has some general information. Some bigger suppliers have freely available literature also.

Until you know how bellows works do not use any. CAESAR II cannot solve the basic engineering for you. CAESAR II has good modelling for bellows but you have to understand how it works. Some CAESAR II literature has had mistakes. COADE has updated the documentation but be carefull. Read also the earlier postings on this forum.

Friend, I think you may have your API specs mixed up. API-610 deals only with pumps.


That said, you very very rarely find expansion joints used with API-610 pumps. Most refinery clients are going to push hard to keep them off of their pumps. You should be able to work a piping layout that satisfies API-610, particularly if the client doesn't restrict you from using Appendix F. Shell is one of the few that I know that specifically doesn't allow Appendix F.

where can i find out the related material for pump nozzles.

First thing to learn about pump nozzles is that they don't look like a storage tank.

You cannot learn stress analysis from this forum. Ask your lead engineer for guidance.
