I am working on a line that has a 1" branch coming from a 3" header that attaches back to the 3" header at a different location. Right now I am modeling the system using a c-node restraint. At the restraint box, the node is the end of the 1" line, the c-node is the location on the 3" branch it connects to (using a weldolet), and the type is an ANCHOR. I was wondering if there was a better way to model this system. I don't know how to use the close loop command, i get an error "cannot find one of the nodes." So my questions are, is the way I am modeling the system correct, and if not how can I model it correctly. Thanks for your responses.

*I did search for: "close loop", loop, "close loop command", and referenced the applications guide, all to no avail

I would suggest you stay away from that "close loop" command. I think it is dangerous to use, because if you have a dimensional error, this command will button-up the piping and you won't be aware of the problem.

It sounds like you're just trying to model a rectangular loop. You don't really need the CNODE. On the last element that reconnects back to your 3" header, just use the header node number again.

Thank you Richard, seems simple enough. Agree with the "stay away from close loop command!"
