Hi,

I have one case where loads on turbine are Ok in operating case but higher than allowables in sustained case.

Is it acceptable to have higher loads on turbine when it is not operating?

Same could be asked for pumps as well.

Thanks

Answering your question ... It's a highly unlikely situation, probably caused by poor pipe routing or inadaquate support / restraint design.

Pump, turbine and compressor piping is usually carefully aligned during installation and commissioning, to ensure that minimal initial piping loads are applied.
