While defining a average diameter method reducer in caesar i have found that i am not able enter 4.0in as size. Rather caesar II registers it to be 4.5in. Please educate.

You have two options for this situation:

1) The easiest thing to do is to "back off" the diameter slightly, 0.1mm should be sufficient. This will cause the test for "is this diameter a nominal" to fail, and your entered value will be left alone.

2) Alternatively, you can define a new units file (using your current one as the starting template), and turn off the nominal switch. CAESAR II will interpret all diameter values you enter as the actual OD of the pipe, any time this units file is in use during the creation of new jobs.
