Is there a known problem with the 4.50 [040311] and the word output routines (macros)?

My Word Output shows for all report options:

and the next two lines "Job: ..." and "Licensed To:" appear also twice.

You have just encountererd DLL Hell courtesy of that company in Redmond Washington.

The problem here is that you have both 4.40 and 4.50 on the same machine. Ordinarily this presents no problems. However, with regards to the MS Word interface, our DLL (which performs most of the work) must be registered with the Windows Operating System. This by itself usually doesn't present any problems. (The registration process is invoked during software installation, and should terminate successfully assuming you have "Admin" rights during installation.)

However, one of the changes in Version 4.50 was to move a routine from the DLL back into the main body of the software. This isn't a problem either.

However, if the outword.dll from Version 4.40 is the one registered with the system, then when Version 4.50 runs, it uses the 4.40 edition of the DLL. This results in two different attempts to place the page header.

The solution to this problem is to register the 4.50 edition of the DLL. You can do this from the [Start/Run] box by issuing the following command:

"regsvr32 c:\caesar\outword.dll"

Replace "c:\caesar" with whatever is appropriate for your installation.

NOTE: If you switch back to Version 4.40 and attempt to use the MS Word interface, you will have to re-register the 4.40 edition of the DLL.
