Our project is a modularization job and the equipments will also be transported with the attached piping from modular yard to the site. Do we need to consider the transportation loads in the analysis i.e for nozzle qualification as well as stresses? Of course analysis will be carried with empty pipe in that case. Structural dept. is considering the acceleration of the barge in their structure design, so similarly for piping also I presume there must be similar consideration. Can anyone figure out the considerations in the stress analysis for this.

Regards

In any case a good lashing arrangement is sufficient to take care of most of the external forces/moments caused due the rotation and translation of the barge.
An elaborate fatigue analysis can be done as is done for offshore piping, especially is there are very large bore piping involved.

It's going to depend on your contract with the module fabricator. For a project I'm on, we are not making special considerations for shipping - the module shop has the responsibility to provide (and clearly mark for removal) temporary supports needed for shipping.

You'll want to check with your project management to see what the contract requires as you won't want to waste a bunch of hours that your client may already be paying the module people for.
