Dear Sir,

Now i am doing modelling of a big piping system. There is a common existing header of 4 inch dia, temp 350 deg C and pressure 16 bar.Three piping system of three heater commming from the header each have 1.5 inch dia, temp=350 deg C and pressure 16 bar.Header have one free end with blind flange and other end having Anchor, between bilnd flage and anchor the three piping system coming. From anchor 1st piping system distance is 3500 mm.from anchor 2 nd piping system distance is 9400 mm.from anchor 3 rd piping system distance is 17000 mm and then blind flange at a distance 900mm from 3 rd piping system.
The above three piping system individually so big that it is difficult to model all in one piping system. As header is existing I can not do anything with the header.

so can any one help me how could I split them?

Consider the moments of inertia of the header and the branches. Then read the recent discussion thread concerning piping systems with multiple sizes of pipe.

Then answer your own question.

Though moments of inertia of the header and the branches is about 50,displacement from the anchor at the junction point or tee is so large for the third piping system, how cal i neglect it?

Dear Ujjwal,

Have any one told you to neglect junction point displacement on branch piping ?

Consider the displacements at junction point from header piping analysis; analyze branch piping & impose the forces & moments at the junction point in header piping analysis & reanalyze.

regards,

sam
