I am analyzing a condenser cooling water buried piping, which main pipe size is OD 2524x12thk.& branch pipe size OD1524x12thk. and OD724x12thk.

After passing through buried pipe modeler I have specified the anchor near to above ground piping to avoid transferring of forces /moments to condenser.
Now I get stress on above branch joints around 200% in Ope.and Exp.condition. To reduces the over stress I have been advise to provide 500mm RCC encasing over main pipe.

Now I want to know how to model 500mm RCC in Caesar-II and also I want know the calculation. We. don't want to modify the layout. Please let me know how to analysis the system.

I presume by "RCC" you mean "reinforced concrete casing"? You can't model a composite section in CAESAR II. About the only thing you can do is specify this casing as insulation, and set the density appropriately. This way you will have the correct weight in the system. However, CAESAR II will not distribute loads and stresses between the two sections.

Hi there

When we have had overstress problems in buried pipe and then put in a concrete thrust block at tees or bends we usually change the soil properties in the soil modeller from soil to concrete for the section of piping that will be encased in concrete. Can you do something similar?
