I am experiencing problems using the ODBC data export wizard to export restraint information to an excel spreadsheet.

My load cases are set up as follows:

1-6 = Sustained, T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6
7-21 = Operating and operating + occcasional (ie W+P1+T1, W+P1+T1+U1 etc)
22-30 = Occasional loads only (ie +U1, -U1, +WIN1, +F1 etc)
31-40= Sustained + Occasional (ie SUS1+U1, SUS1-U1 etc)
41-45 = Cold - T1 thru to Cold - T6
46-60 = Tx-Ty (ie T6-T5, T6-T4 etc.)

All the loadcases from 1 - 21 are "built" loadcases (ie W+P1+T1+U1)

Whereas loadcases 22-60 are summed loadcases (ie L7-L1)

At the output report options screen of the data export wizard I select the Restraint Report for loadcases 1-6, 22-30, 40-45. When I select these loadcases I get a txt file containing restraint information for loadcases 1-6 only but no information for 22-30 or 40-45. Also all the load values are 0 ie Fx=0 Fy=0 Fz=0 for all loadcases.

If I now choose "Select all" loadcases and "restraint report" the wizard exports data for loadcases 1-21 and then says export successful. Again there is no infomation for loadcases 22-30 or 40-45?

I can export stresses and forces for loadcases 22+ but not restraint loads.

I believe I have set up my loadcases correctly, ie the loadcases I want restraint loads for I have set the display to include "force".

Should I be able to export these values I am after or am I wasting my time?

I have checked that the DSN setup has been carried out correctly.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

After posting the above question I suffered from an attack of devine inspiration and in the loadcase editor I changed the setting for the loadcases I was not getting any reults for from FORCE only to DISPLACEMENTS/FORCE/STRESS and now I get restraint loads.

Why I need to set displacement/stress when I want a force I have no idea.

The problem now is all my restraint loads are all zero in my exported data, yet when I view the results on screen I get actual loads.

E-mail the _A and _J file for this job so we can run it here. I suspect that one of your base cases doesn't have restraint loads available, therefore any combination cases relying on this base case won't either.

Richard

If I do an OBDC export from my machine I get all the data with the all the values being zero, however if I do this from my collegues machine I do get results which are correct. I can live with this at the moment so rather then sending you the files (since it make work anyway at your end) I will get CAESAR II reloaded when we receive version 4.50 to try and fix this.
