I have a doubt regarding the application of SIFs when there are two different SIFs specified in the same node.

For example, a welding elbow has got a SIF to be applied according to ASME B31.1 Appendix D. Moreover, B31.1 defines a SIF for the butt welds. If, for example, the SIF calculated for the welding elbow is 2,3 and the SIF calculated for the butt weld is 1,9, which is the SIF used for calculating the stress at the edges of the elbow? The biggest? The SRSS?
