This is maybe not the right forum for this question, however here is my question : to distinguish between a spacer and a spade, a hole in the handle is used as a remote visual indicator. So for a spade the handle shall never be supplied with any holes for any purposes (i.e. to hang the spade) to avoid any misinterpretation. Someone has told me that this visual indicator "rule" is mentioned in the ASME code. Does anybody know which ASME code this is mentioned ? Thanks

Totan,

Refer to Section 7 of ASME B16.48 Steel Line Blanks.
