Dear all

I am looking for a valid reference that talk about the allowable nozzle load in occasional cases like seismic,... on pump or equipment nozzle.
on the other hand what factor could be consider for its limition?

Everything depends on the project specification. This requires concurrence of the clients.

Say in case of SSE level earthquake, the pump/equipment need not remain operational during or post earthquake and only pressure boundary retention is required. However if it is OBE level earthquake, the system may need to remain operational during and post earthquake. First this philosophy has to be arrived at. Next the loads are to be submitted to the vendor to ensure that this philophy is achievable.Say for SSE under the application of the SSE level load will thye system pressure boundary remain intact or during OBE level loading will the casing distortion and shaft deflection be within a limit to ensure operability of , say the pump.

Also it depends a lot on which standard you follow: as an example NFPA59A definition of SSE is not same as what you find in APPENDIX N of SEC III which is more of a qualitative definition.
