Hello every one,
Could anyone explain how to use
X (cosx, cosy, cosz) or X (vecx, vecy, vecz),in order to model inclined support guide in Caesar.
I will appreciate if u give me an example or wher to find one.
Thanks
Yani

First, compute the direction cosine of the line of action of the restraint. Then input the numbers exactly as you have outlined above. For example, say we have a pipe element that runs in the +X, +Z direction at 30 degrees from the +X toward the +Z (draw this on a piece of paper for clarity). Then an axial support would be defined as X(.866, 0, .50). A lateral support would be defined as X(-.50, 0, .866).

But remember that a Guide is always a lateral support so you don't need to enter direction cosines. Likewise, a LIM is always an axial support.

I have a suggestion for the next Caesar - Update :
I think User-Input for restraint that not in global axis are not necessary
with X (cosx,cosy,cosz ).
It is enough the user can click a new Button at the restraint that say
"Local". It is the Button empty, then the restraint is globel.
It is "Local" Button activated, then can Caesar self based on the element direction ( dx,dy,dz )and the restraint direction input (X,or Y,or Z)
the restraint local to define.
