I was wondering if anyone else in this forum ever has a problem with .CAESAR II files just disappearing for no reason. In the Caesar II 5.0 version, I can be working on a file of which I am going back and forth between the input and the static output and all of the sudden "bam" the .CAESAR II file is gone. The initial window pops that confirms what kind of units are being used in the analysis as if this file is brand new. This is very aggravating. Any answers would be deeply appreciated!!

Before getting into a long winded discussion on how the ". c 2" archive works, what build are you using?

CAESAR II 5.0 (BUILD 061005)

I got this from the lower right hand corner of initial window that pops after starting Caesar.

At the top of the CAESAR II Forum is this note:

Quote:

Please note, the current edition of CAESAR II is Version 5.00, Build 070122.

1) Download this build and update your software.
2) If you're not receiving "Build Announcement Notices" via e-mail, please register your software ("\Help\On-Line Registration"). This is the only way we have of notifying users that revisions to the software are available.

JJ,

Your files are probably still there. Use "explorer" and you may see the "exploded" files _a, _j etc. Use the pull down to select "pre 5.0" files and you can open them and then will be rezipped to .CAESAR II. You can also look in your .temp dir or just do a search on your computer before you recode a large file that has really not disappeared.

This also happens sometimes (or did in the past) when you include a piping file. The included file was "exploded" and remains looking like a pre-5.0 format.

Just some thoughts.
