Dear all,

I am doing stress analysis of PSV(relief Valve) system - (B 31.3).

During PSV Operation there two different forces, one is PSV Pop-up force at the time of PSV opening,

and the other force is due to Established flow condition in the PSV.

My doubt is,how to form the load case for established flow condition.
what stress i have to check for this condition, consider it either in expansion stress or in occasional stress
.

This how i have made my load cases.

F1- PSV POP-UP FORCE
F2- ESTABLISHED FLOW FORCE

CASE1 W+P1+T1 OPERATING CASE
CASE2 W+P1 SUSTAIN CASE
CASE3 W+P1+T1+F1 PSV POP-UP CONDITION
CASE4 W+P1+T1+F2 ESTABLISHED FLOW CONDITION
CASE5 L3-L1 OCCASIONAL
CASE6 L4-L1 OCCASIONAL OR L4-L2 EXPANSION ?????

suggest me a solution ,

Regards,
BVK

What code is this work being done under???

I'm sure it can't be B31.1 or B31.3 because anyone reading those two publications would never ask this question.....
