Crashing the software, especially the piping input processor is quite rare. There are too many installations running fine for this to be a general software issue. The problem is most likely something with the particular installation on this particular machine.
First, ensure you're using the latest "build" of the software. This is Version 4.40 - 030403.
Second, which graphics are you using, the "Standard Graphics", or the "3D HOOPS Graphics"?
Third, go to "Control Panel\Display\Settings", and change your color depth to some other setting.
If the problem persists, e-mail me a screen shot of the (crash) error message, with information about: your machine, operating system, and exact version of CAESAR II.
