Afternoon all,

I am having issues running Caesar II on a dual monitor setup. It opens everything correctly, but will then crash after a short while, seemingly at random while zooming in or out in the 3D view, or while entering/editing data. ( http://img249.imageshack.us/img249/2876/dualerror1bf9.jpg )

I'm using the latest Caesar build on XP Pro SP2, with an Nvidia Go 7900 GS graphics card. I've tried re-installing caesar, updating windows, updating the graphics driver, using different rendering modes...

Using a single monitor works fine, so it's not a massive issue, but it would be handy to use two.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Mike.

Mike,

This might have something to do with the graphics card. There are two things you can try:

1) Open Caesar II and select Tools->Configure/Setup->3D Viewer Settings and change the Video Driver to Windows Basic Video (this is near the bottom of the page).

2) Right-click on your Windows Desktop and select Properties->Settings->Advanced->Troubleshoot and turn the Hardware Acceleration to a lower setting (toward the left) and apply this setting.

Hi Loren,

After a few test minutes of vigorous mouse-wheel spinning, turning down the hardware acceleration seems to have done the trick.

Thanks,
Mike.
