I am trying to generate isometric drawings with my company frame instead of COADE ( Set as a default). Even though the drawings generate successfully, I am not able to see any drawing in AutoCAD & getting error following message

File lacks the NamedObject dictionary
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

I checked the help topics & make ISO directory & ISO style but still I am not able to resolve this problem.

If I generate ISO through default setting it works well But when I use my own style it is creating a problem & sending an error message as I mentioned above.

Please guide me how to solve this error & how to use our company frame to generate pipe stress isometrics instead of default COADE frame.

Thanks

Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

In your style subfolder, there is a file named isogen.fls, which is a ASCII file. Open that file, you will see the file used for DRAWING-FRAME.
This file has to be created by AutoCAD no later than version 12. Try to switch to some other files (dwg is preferred), and see how it works.

Problem is solved with following changes but next question is how to set the scale as the iso drawings overlap the columns of the template.

Proposed Solution

1) Auto CAD version of my template I made on 2004 version but CAESAR was supporting 2000.

2) When you change the ISo style setting use dwg extension file instead of dxf.

Hi Abhishek,

When you start the CAESAR II, go to menu Tools/I-Configure. Click the style you are using, on the bottom-left pane, click "Detail" tab, highlight directory "DrawingFrame", on the right pane, adjust the "LeftMagin" and "RightMargin" based on your own dwg file.

Isogen is one of the most horrible programs to get a hang of. The easiest way we have found to get user templates to work is to make a copy of the style in the Isogen directory and then rename to your company style.

Take the coade border in this folder and edit with your company details.
