Hello,

I have read some company standards saying that the first pipe support from the pump nozzles should be adjustable. These standards do not explicitly
say the type of pump (e.g. horizontal, vertical in-line) to which the use of adjustable support applies. Do you believe that it is acceptable to use a non-adjustable support for vertical in-line pumps ?

Regards,
Val

The purpose of adjustable supports local to a pump (and many other equipment items) is to allow alignment during hook-up / commissioning.

In your case it would depend upon the type of in-line pump. If it has its own support base you need adjustable pipe supports. If it's supported by the pipe, you may not need the facility for adjustment.

Thanks MoverZ.
I haven't run across a pump supported by pipes before,
my case is that with a pump base support, hence I prefer an adjustable support for my piping.

Regards,
Neo
