The CAESAR-II software is having interface with Microsoft Word and analysis input / output should be directly opened in Word.

We are using Caesar 4.4 on a desktop installed with Windows XP with SP1 and McAfee 4.5.1 with SP1 and Office XP with SP2.

With version 4.4 the interface with Word is not working. It gives following error message:

C:\caesar\outward.dll:dllRegister server failed.

Please help me in solving this issue.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the \caesar program directory and delete the file "regsvr32.exe".

Next, go to [Start\Run] and issue the command:

"regsvr32 \caesar\outword.dll"

This should register the DLL using the version of "regsvr32" that came with XP.

have done what you have mentioned, have registered the Dll.

Now when I invoke the interface it gives me the following error

"Failed to create Object, Make sure the object is entered in the system registry"

Issues with "failed to create object" were eliminated in the Dec '02 build. If you have a build date prior to this, please update your installation by downloading the latest build from this website.

The word interface on earlier (fairly recent)builds had to be first run with the user logged on with Administrator rights. This seems to set everything up for all subsequent runs as a normal user.

Well, looks like I'm going to have to resurrect this thread.

I recently upgraded to a new computer with XP and I'm running 4.50 with the new 040810 build. Now, I'm getting the "failed to create object" error when I try to get a Word output. This is the only version of Caesar that I have installed, so there's no conflict there and I do have the outword.dll file properly registered.

I haven't installed the Service Pack 2 yet (still waiting to see if it breaks more than it fixes). I'm pretty sure this arrangement was working for me before I applied the latest build.

Hopefully you don't have "Norton Anti-Virus" installed ?
