I am modelling jacketed piping system and I have a problem regarding guide plates. I do have standard drawing with me and they detailed guide plates together with their angles.

Is it possible to rotate those guide plates/internal spiders(only changing direction...not changing their angles) in modelling in CAESAR?

Thanks and regards

I just can't picture what you're trying to describe.

You can guide the core pipe with the shell pipe by using CNodes but if you're trying to model each individual spider vane, that seems to be a bit excessive.

You would model the spiders as restrains on core pipe with CNode to the jacket.
Assuming the pipe runs in X-directions, the most probable restrains would be Y (vertical) and Z (lateral). If the actual spiders are "rotated" or the spider legs are not normal to each other, then you can introduce a restraint with direction cosines. Let say, the spider (with 4 perpendicular legs) is rotated 45degrees in "torsion" plane, then restrains would be Y(0,1,1) and Y(0,-1,1). If the actual spider legs are with a specific angle, then again, use the direction cosines based on the drawings geometry...

Yes I am modelling them individually. And I'm modelling it like Nadia said. Anyway, I've decided to model it as Y and X or Z fo internal guides like CAESAR II samples does.

Thank you very much to all
